Thanks for exploring my portfolio. I have nearly 20 years experience in the graphic arts/communications industry and I really enjoy what I do ...really! Below is a summary of my experience to date.
At present I am working for a web development firm as Senior Web Designer
Enjoyment consists of coming up with a wide variety of website designs for large and small businesses that have good budgets and some that have virtually no budget. Most of these sites are HTML based with Flash elements added for enhancement. I also design corporate identity build PDFs and forms for web delivery.
2 years as Photographer, Photo-Retoucher and Prepress Production Assistant
After 9-11-2001 many clients made concessions when it came to marketing and as such, the design firm I was working for was forced to reduce overhead and I (being part of that overhead) was moved back to the prepress side of the business. I continued photo-retouching and some photography. While there I learned to operate a LAMBDA large format printer until the company had to give me the boot as they dissolved. I really enjoyed working there and it is a shame it had to happen but I understand.
3 years as Photographer, Photo-Retoucher and New Media Designer
My pleasure center consisted of digital and conventional photography of small products and live models both in the studio and on location, QuickTime VR (QTVR) panoramic and object VR movie creation. Digital Video camera work and non-linear editing for CD, web and full motion video. Web site maintenance and creation.
3 years working in prepress as a Scanner Operator/Photo-Retoucher
Grooved on high-resolution flatbed and drum scanners. Photo-retouching for print media. Assisted in the production of four-color AGFA proofing system and network data backup.
8 years as Director of Photography and Special Effects
Coolness included, location and in-house photography for multi-projector slide presentations. Created photo-optical special effects utilizing pin-registered Oxberry Procopy F2 and Marron 1400/1600 optical printers (basically I did on film what we do in Photoshop today). Also maintained a color slide developing lab.
Half a year as a Photographer for local area newspaper
Photographed hard news, sports and features for daily deadline. Was responsible for getting to locations early, plan interaction with one or more people regarding shoot, establishing rapport and directing shoot. Developed and printed black and white film.

2000's
- Interviewed by Chris Marquardt (tipsfromthetopfloor.com, episode 90) for a 40 minute Podcast on photo manipulation.

1990's
- Photographed the 24 Hours of Le Mans as Media personnel in 1999 (the year that Mercedes provided the meaning of the term "Silver Arrows" when one of their cars became air bourne off "the hump". I also go to attend this race with my father which in itself was an honor to bring him because I don't think he has the strength to do it again
- Had the honor of creating a 4 ft. x 6 ft photo montage for the United States Marine Corps. Historical Museum that was placed on board the USS Iwo Jima LH-7. I also had the honor of attending the commissioning of that ship and meeting the sculpter who created the Iwo Jima memorial in Arlington, Virginia in 1998
- Gave an on-stage tutorial on color correction at a FOSE convention in Washington DC in 1997
1980's
